find Adventure
Explorers meet as a unit with adult leaders, where they organise their programme of activities to suit their own needs.
Explorer scouting can involve you in just about anything, from climbing high mountain peaks, to travelling on trips with other explorers from around the country.
Some explorers can also be involved as
young leaders working with other sections.
Explorer scouts work towards three awards, the "Diamond Chief Scout's Award", the "Platinum Chief Scout's Award" and, the "Queen's Scout Award". Those who achieve this high standard each year are invited to take part in the annual Easter Sunday parade at Windsor Castle.
Explorer scouts can also work on the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme.
If you fit into our age range, and your looking for something more out of life remember:
Details of where they meet can be found on the In Darlington page.
For information about joining scouts or working as a leader / section assistant, fill in our contact form, telling us your name and address (so we can find your nearest group), your telephone number, and the section you are interested in.
