Darlington Scouting Live

In June 2011, Darlington Scouting took over the market place to promote Scouting in Darlington and show what 21st century Scouting has to offer.

A big thank you to all who helped to make Darlington Scouting Live a success. Those that organised and planned, and got the equipment and material together, and those who put in time on the day - from 4am in some cases.

Between us all we made certain that Darlington Scouting is on the map. Lots of information was given out and lots of enquiries made about joining Scouting, crucially from adults interested in helping as well as from young people.

The day was helped by it not being as wet as feared from the previous night’s weather forecast, when it sounded as though we might get washed away.

Thank you also to all those who joined our MP Jenny Chapman and Rev Williamson on the charity abseil in St Cuthbert’s Church.
