Explorers Team Up for a Sunny York Adventure
Explorers from Elm Ridge ESU and Middleton St George ESU joined forces for a fun-packed day out in York, complete with challenges, pizza, and a campfire.
Off to York
The day began at HQ before heading to the station for the half-hour train trip. Despite ticket machines being out of order (and the shock of having to buy tickets from an actual person!), everyone made it safely onto the train.
Challenges in the City
After arriving in York, the Explorers headed into the city centre. Leaders had set them a series of challenges to complete throughout the day — some easier than others! One of the trickiest proved to be tracking down the famous Ice Cream Boat.
Back to Camp
On return, tents were pitched and the pizzas arrived, setting the scene for the best part of any camp: gathering around the campfire. Laughter, stories, and plenty of chill time made for a perfect evening.
Saturday Morning
The next morning started with a classic sausage butty breakfast before striking camp, tidying up, and heading home.
