Darlington Challenge Hike 2025
Today, Scouts from Darlington braved a rain-soaked day for the annual Darlington Challenge Hike 2025. Six teams took part, including the 9th, 12th, 19th, and 27th Darlington Scout Groups.
The challenge required Scouts to navigate from the local village of Sadberge to Darlington, completing a series of exciting tasks along the way. These included lighting a fire with flint and steel, a communication challenge where a scout wore a bucket on their head while following compass directions, various mind games, and pitching a tent.
Despite the wet weather, Scouts tackled each challenge with smiles on their faces, showing true determination and teamwork. The event would not have been possible without the dedication of the adult leader volunteers who helped organise and support the hike.
Congratulations to Team 1 from the 9th Darlington Scout Group, who were the overall winners of the 2025 challenge!
