This weekend, 29 Cubs, Scouts and leaders from the 27th Darlington set off for a packed few days exploring London and everything the capital has to offer.

For many of the young people, it was their very first visit to London, and they made the most of every opportunity throughout the trip. From taking in the famous sights and exploring museums to braving the London Dungeons, the group embraced every activity with enthusiasm and excitement.

Throughout the weekend, the young people were a real credit to the group. We received countless compliments from hostel staff, other guests and members of the public about how polite, supportive and well behaved everyone was. It was fantastic to see the Scouts representing the group and Scouting so positively wherever they went.

Of course, one topic came up time and time again — why had we decided to visit during a heatwave! Despite the soaring temperatures, spirits remained high and the group took everything in their stride, creating memories that will last for years to come.

A huge thank you goes to all the leaders and volunteers who helped organise and support the trip, making it such a successful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
