Every week, young people across Darlington are waiting for the chance to begin their Scout adventure.
Right now, 85 young people are on our waiting list. Sadly, many more never even make it onto that list because we simply don’t have enough volunteers to open new sections.
Behind every place in Scouts is an adult who decided to give a little of their time.
You don’t need previous Scouting experience. You don’t need to know how to tie knots, light campfires or climb mountains. You just need to be someone who wants to help young people discover new skills, make lifelong friends and build confidence.
One volunteer can make an incredible difference.
One volunteer can:
- Open a new section.
- Create more places for local young people.
- Help reduce our waiting lists.
- Change lives.
Whether you can spare an hour a week, help behind the scenes, or become part of a leadership team, there is a volunteering role to suit you.
