The other Saturday the teams of Scouts from the 9th, 11th 12th and 27th Scout Groups all took part in the annual Scout Challenge Hike.
Starting in Winston the Scout Teams navigated through Gainford finishing at Peircebridge using the Teesdale Way.
Along the way the Scouts came across the checkpoints where they were challenged with Pioneering, Puzzle’s and Knot Challenges with spaghetti and finally landing at the last checkpoint where they were set a time to pitch a tent.
The Scouts were in good spirits during the challenge hike as were the leaders considering they had to turn up at 07:00 for a team brief.
the two teams from the 9th came in 2nd and 3rd on 203 and 201 points.
Once all the scores came in from the Check Point Challenges it was obvious that it was a close competition this year
The Weevils from the 11th Darlington Scout Group came out on top for the Winners of the 2024 competition with 209 points.
