12th Darlington Scout Troop have been out and about adventuring on an expedition by train and hike to Ravensgill

When we got there, we put up the tents by ourselves and cooked our own food on trangias. “It was fun because we cooked our own food and played in the river,” said Hugo and Oscar P.

There was loads of space to run around and play games. “We played hide and seek in the dark and sardines in the forest. We played with glow-in-the-dark sticks—we threw them and ran with them,” said James and Ted. Everyone loved the wide games and the glow stick game at night.

“We enjoyed the expedition because we were able to be a bit more independent than other camps. We used maps to walk here and put up our own tents,” said Anna and Jasmine. The tuck shop was also well used “we enjoyed buying loads of sweets!”

Evenings around the fire were a favourite for loads of people. “We sat around the fire and hit it with sticks for some reason,” said Henry. And of course: s’mores! “Our favourite part was playing hide and seek in the dark… it was fun hiding and no one seeing you,” said Peter, Ewan, Elliot and Oscar R.

Jennifer nailed it: “Overall, one of the best camps.”
