What a fantastic morning we had with Squirrels (27th Darlington Scout Group) at Teesside International Airport!
The children got a behind-the-scenes look at how an airport works. They watched holidaymakers checking in their luggage and saw how bags travelled along the conveyor belt, before learning what happens at security with the special scanning machines.
After exploring some of the airport’s memorabilia and enjoying a quick refreshment break, we headed outside to watch a plane land and meet some of the amazing people who work around the aircraft. The highlight was getting to meet the pilot and cabin crew preparing for their next flight to Palma!
The Squirrels had a brilliant time, discovered so many new things, and left full of excitement. A huge thank you to Teesside Airport for welcoming us – it was fab!
