Annual Good Friday Sausage Hike – Over 50 Years of Tradition!
The 7th Darlington Sea Scouts came together once again for the much-anticipated Annual Good Friday Sausage Hike, continuing a tradition that has now spanned over 50 years! An incredible 100 participants took part, with young people from every section—Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers—joined by their friends, families, and dedicated leaders.
The scenic hike began in Staindrop and took the group through the beautiful surroundings of Raby Estate, culminating at their very own campsite, The Cabin. Throughout the day, participants embraced the outdoor adventure by playing in the woods, cooking on the fire, and engaging in exciting team games.
Adding an inspiring challenge to this year’s event, some leaders and young people hiked all the way from Darlington—an incredible 18-mile trek—to raise funds for The Cabin.
True to tradition, the highlight of the day was the well-earned sausages at the end of the hike.
